Every one is entitled to his/her opinion. As is obvious Gurkhas have diffirent opinion about Mr. Padam Bahadur Gurung, both negative and positive. Both GAESO and BGWS fight for the right of Gurkhas in their own ways. Gurkhas should understand that they should have mutual understanding and unity if they want to show the true qualities of Gurkhas, better to die than being a coward. In both the world wars they fought together and earned fame. If they were fighting each other as they do now this would not have been the case. Further you are not doing justice to Professor Ralph Tuner’s famous poem “Gurkhas”.
I thought GAESO had a new President. Padam Bahadur Gurung had reportedly resigned following a corruption case filed against him in Kathamndu sometime ago? And what is your problem with BGWS?

The various Gurkha associations/orginazations all seem to be slinging ‘gobar’ at one another and not focusing on the issue at hand! Padam Bahadur himself is responsible for what many say about him. He may have done something good at the beginning but later on he must have done something wrong to make his lawer to accuse him of wrong doings. No smoke without fire! He must clear his name through the court and prove his ‘enemy’ wrong.
If BGWS is the agent of MOD it is good because they are trying to do something good for pre 97 Gurkhas, I believe.

Fight for the Gurkha right is good itself . Fighting between each other is bad itself. yes pdm bdr was the first man to begin the first step, unfortunately, on the middle of the way he lost his path to reach his destination, yes BGWS is the one of the good fighter for this case and other party like neso feso KHOI KE KE HO KE KE sorry i need to practise hard to make by heart the all name of our party. Now i,m worring about one thing. if our child been asked the question in their SLC about the number of our political party in Nepal. They will definately fail their exam because there are uncountable useless parties . That’s the reason why they are not being able to write our SAMBIDHAN. SO MANY CAT NO KILL RAT.
Like if we compare our ever growing parties like BARKHE mushroom. won’t our Gurkha’s case is also going to be the same like Nepal’s never writtenable constitution? so i think we all need to learn the lesson from Nepal’s condition.
in fact in my opinion we have just win alittle bit pansion. apart from that we are losing everything even though we’re believing we have won every thing. like we got uk’s resettlement. it’s becoming like exchanging a diamond with an iron. because we changed our nation’s pride with the third class nationality. That means we have deceived our motherland. on the other hand our coming generation will have to regret from what we did. because a donkey can never be a cow even after good wash.

‘I thought GAESO had a new President’. No there isn’t Singh Ji and there will never be. I wander what has Bhaktasher sect to achieve with slandering, this in effect has actually acted as a catalyst amongst PB proponents to grow stronger. I hope Bhaktasher and his cahoots realises that sooner then latter.
Corruption allegation has been around for years so did the wild rumours of court case against him.. How long does it take for a court to summon someone or to issue an arrest warrant?. Until such time; that it is proven that he is guilty of dishonesty, Padam Bdr Gurung remains as clean as baby’s bum and so does our allegiance intact. We ask Siwakoti, Kandangwa and Bhaktasher to prove it, by no means PB is immuned of any wrong doing…… The path these renegades has chosen to bring PB on his knees has done more harm to us than good….

@G60Lama. I see Padam Bahadur Gurung is the President GAESO for life! Interesting ! The fact that there have been allegations of fraud by his long time lawyers and a number of Ex Gurkhas makes “he is as clean as a baby’s bum” very doubtful.
At the end of the day however it is the question of money without which GAESO like any other organizations anywhere in the world, or anything for that matter, would not function. It is all well to fight for the right of the ex Gurkhas but funds collected from donations by British Gurkha pensioners and their widows should be managed and run as per the appropriate rules and with transparency. It is the right of every ex Gurkha donor to know how and where his/her money is spent through the periodical audit reports published in any newspaper. If this had happened with GAESO there would have been no allegations of corruption.
Gurkhas of the world unite. Stop praising just one man. Like in a football game David Beckham is nothing without his team. It’s a teamwork!
Could not agree with you more Gorkhali….. there’re majority of us whose allegiance will never be faltered, no matter what. “An Eye opener” without a doubt, he is! and let us send a message to renegades, the insidiousness is in his blood, Yes I’m referering to a man who is steering the slander campaign, not just against PB Gurung but against the entity of Gurkhas and their well being and believe it or not, Kandangwa too, carries, the same poisionous and satanic blood in him.
The hate, divide and amass campaign will only last until or as long as the funds are there, the money that we have donated depriving ourselves and our children from their needs. They themselves are doing the very same thing as they’ve alleged PB has done in the past. Dharan is an obvious target, for one good reason only because good chunk of inhabitants there; are bhupus which means up until now, the bank accounts bear decent figures. Further more, people who’d have opposed and opposing the idea, make up only about 2-3% of total bhupu population therefore more often than not they’re snubbed away…………….

From your comments it seems, doesn’t it, that you are the barking dog while BGWS are quietly preparing for the next and perhaps the ultimate battle at the European Court of Human Rights next year!
UK government is currently looking for ways to cut their huge budget deficit. One of them is defence cut which was much publicised. What effect this has on Gurkhas will only be known next FY. I believe BGWS has included this in their strategy.
They have started fund raising campaign following a fourth meeting. BGWS has many supporters including British friends.
Let us hope that despite current economic situation the British government will take the example of the French Foreign Legion.
